Dr. Spero planted and pastored Faith Fellowship World Outreach Ministries in January of 2000 and presently is the Spiritual Enrichment Pastor and Dean of Faith International Training School in Fort Myers, Florida.
He has been in active ministry for 45 years. He was born September 25, 1942 in Malden, Massachusetts. He is the husband of Mary Rose, the father of two daughters, Pamela Michelle Stirzel and Lisa Marie Zimmer; the grandfather of four grandchildren, Kayla and Christopher Stirzel and Noah and Zachary Zimmer. He is a graduate of Zion Bible College and has received his Bachelor and Master degrees in Theology as well as his Doctor of Ministry from Vision International University.
Dr. Spero is the Founder and President of Calvary Chapel Evangelistic Association and Founder of Calvary Chapel Christian Academy and Vision Christian University International in Severn, Maryland, Founder and Overseer of Calvary Chapel Christian Center in Ocean City, Maryland and of Christian Bible Church in Brooklyn Park, Maryland. While pastoring in Maryland, Dr. Spero organized and established a fellowship of local Pastors over 20 years ago that still gathers together on a weekly basis for prayer and fellowship.
God has increased his vision to the world and for many years has traveled to various countries in Europe, Africa, South America and India speaking in conferences and Pastor’s Seminars. He also oversees 40 churches, 3 Bible Colleges, 1 clinic, 1 orphanage and 1 Christian Academy in the country of Cameroon, Central Africa. He and his wife also now direct Life Line Missions, the mission work Mary’s father began in Africa 45 years ago. It sponsors national workers in the country of Nigeria with about 60 affiliate churches.
He is on the Advisory Board of Barnabas Ministry, a ministry that trains and encourages leaders in third world countries. He serves as the Florida overseer for Covenant Ministries International. He also is a Regional Director of Vision International University.
Dr. Spero pastored his first church in West Virginia at Fairmont Christian Assembly for 5 years. He also ministered as an Evangelist for 6 years. He pastored Calvary Chapel Christian Center in Severn, Maryland for 25 years before moving to Florida. He also has previously served as:
